Letters to the editor: February 6, 2019

February 6, 2019 by Methow Valley News

Thanks from Friends of Pool

Dear Editor:

The Friends of the Pool would like to gratefully thank all the people who contributed to help keep the Ernst O. Wagner Memorial pool afloat.

Your generous donations help the town of Twisp maintain the only safe place to swim for many children and adults. Swimming lessons, the Killer Whales swim team, with its many members, the lap swimmers and water aerobics group all enjoy the pool and get great benefit from its use. Many afternoons in the summer, it is the best place to hang out.

Without the help of many, the pool would not exist.

Sincere thanks to all our supporters.

The Friends of the Pool, Twisp

Disservice to deer

Dear Editor:

At one time the Methow herd was the largest migrating mule deer herd in the country. The folks left in charge of “managing” this herd have done a disservice to not only us as hunters, but first and foremost they have done a disservice to this once-proud and thriving herd. Predators are job one nowadays. It’s easy to see who is getting the attention, some are on the rise while the others are tanking. It doesn’t take a college degree to see what’s happening.
