Hugh E. Glassburn, age 84, of Winthrop, passed away on Nov. 30, 2018, in Omak.
He was born on Feb. 26, 1934, in Des Moines, Iowa, to parents Hugh S. and Irene M. Glassburn. His family soon after moved to Seattle, where he was raised and graduated from Queen Anne High School. Later, he served his country with the U.S. Navy.
In his adult life, he was an outstanding pilot and owned and operated his company, Methow Aviation, for many years. He loved flying but he also loved being a cowboy and was very good at it.
He is survived by his wife, Janet S. Glassburn, and his children Scott H. Glassburn, Teresa Glassburn O’Connor, and Suzanne M. Glassburn, and his grandchildren, Amanda Hammer, Cassy Goshern and Evan O’Connor, and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial will be held at the Winthrop Barn on Friday (Dec. 14) at 2 p.m.
