The Liberty Bell High School girls’ basketball team bounced back from a tough loss at Waterville-Mansfield last week to claim a victory over Tonasket in two league games.
On the Shockers’ home court, the Lady Lions fell by 45-42 in contest that was close all the way. The Lady Lions were led by freshman Jadyn Mitchell with 16 points and sophomore Sammie Curtis with 10. Junior Tommie Ochoa added nine points and five assists. Curtis pulled down 10 rebounds and added five steals. Sophomore Madison Surface had 9 rebounds.
At Tonasket a couple of nights later, the Lady Lions revved up their offense for a 64-51 victory. Mitchell registered a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds, and Curtis added 15 points. Juniors Hannah Bakke and Hailey Damman each had nine points, and Bakke added 10 rebounds.
Liberty Bell is now 2-2 for the season, 1-1 in league play. The Lady Lions hosted Brewster on Tuesday (Dec. 11), and will be at home against Manson on Friday (Dec. 14), tipping off at 6 p.m. They stay at home to host Bridgeport next Tuesday, also starting at 6 p.m.
