Amanda Raup brings a combination of business experience and outdoor recreation instruction to her new job at the Loup.
Amanda Raup has been hired as the Snow Sports School director at Loup Loup Ski Bowl, the Loup’s General Manager Dave Betts announced last week. She replaces Chad Rosenstine, who retired after the 2017-18 season.
Raup’s career in the snow sports industry began eight years ago in parallel with her career in the corporate world as an IT project manager and business analyst. While working the IT industry, Raup said in a press release, “I learned a great deal about teamwork, discipline, time management and how to lead others. Yet it made me realize where my passion truly lies, teaching and the outdoors.”
Raup’s full-time immersion in the snow sports industry began at Edelweiss, a resort in Germany, where she attained PSIA-AASI certifications and membership. Raup is working on advanced certifications in both ski and snowboarding.
“I continue to seek out growth opportunities to advance my skills as a teacher and rider,” she said. “I am so excited to share my knowledge and skills with others at the Loup.”
Raup began her instructing career at Round Top Mountain Resort in Pennsylvania, a ski hill she said is “very similar to the Loup.”
“We’re excited to have Amanda on board and believe her combination of passion for instructing and her business background will both be brought to bear for the school and its students,” Betts said.
Raup can be reached at (509) 557-3404 or by email at schooldirector@skitheloup.com.
