The Methow Valley Chamber Music Festival has named Michael Kamansky to its board of directors. He has been a volunteer at the festival for three concert seasons and offers a deep background in technology and management consulting, according to a festival press release.
Kamansky has lived in the valley since 2016. He works at the Cascades Outdoor Store, and as a fly fishing guide for North Cascades Fly Fishing. He has a strong connection to the Chamber Music Festival, claiming it has inspired him as a pianist and to become a brand new cellist, according to the release. “What an amazing opportunity to join a fantastic organization that brings world-class musicians to our beautiful valley every year,” Kamansky said.
Newly elected officers for this season are Jane Orme, president; Harry Grant, vice-president; Anne Peck, secretary-treasurer; Lynn Swan, at large; Carolanne Steinebach, at large.
The festival also announced that it will hold its Summer Concert Series earlier in 2019, from June 20 to June 29.
