County Democrats to elect new leadership

November 28, 2018 by Methow Valley News

Elected precinct committee officers for the Okanogan County Democratic Party are encouraged to attend a meeting this weekend, where they will elect new leaders for the party’s reorganization and hold a general meeting.

The meeting is at the 12 Tribes Colville Casinos hotel conference room in Omak on Saturday (Dec.1) at noon.

Nominations can be made by any party member in attendance, and all party members are invited. No proxies are permitted for the election of officers.

Positions up for election are chair, first vice chair, vice chairs for the 7th and 12th legislative districts, state committee woman, and state committee man.

The leadership of the party grows from grassroots actions, which determine the path forward as they plan for the election cycle of 2020, said party chair Michael Sarratt.
