The Liberty Bell High School volleyball team started fast and never looked back in a 3-0 home court victory over Waterville-Mansfield on Saturday (Oct. 13).

The Lady Lions tallied nine points before the Shockers scored, on the way to a 25-15 win in the first game.

The Shockers kept it somewhat close in the second game before Liberty Bell pulled away for a 25-13 win.

In game three, the visitors rallied to take a 10-9 lead. But the Lady Lions scored the next nine points on the way to another 25-15 win.

Liberty Bell exhibited strong teamwork throughout the match with contributions from everyone on the floor. Noteworthy were freshman Jadyn Mitchell, who raked Waterville-Mansfield with a flurry of kill shots, and senior libero Ruth Matteson in the middle.

On Oct. 9, Liberty Bell needed five games to win at Waterville-Mansfield, 3-2. The victory over Waterville-Mansfield in the rematch gave Liberty Bell an 8-4 season record, 3-3 in league play, including a 3-0 win over visiting Tonasket last week.

The Lady Lions visited Soap Lake on Tuesday (Oct. 16), and will host Omak on Monday (Oct. 22) with the varsity game starting at 6:30 p.m. Then Liberty Bell stays at home to play Bridgeport on Tuesday (Oct. 23), Senior Night, also at 6:30 p.m.

The Lady Lions beat Bridgeport and Soap Lake earlier in the season.
