Beau Bourn, left, and Kelsi Potvin will host a grand opening Saturday for TwiSpa, which will offer massage and skin care. The spa is located between Yard Food and Aero Methow Rescue Service.
TwiSpa, a new spa offering massage, organic skin care and waxing, will hold an opening celebration Saturday (Sept. 29) in Twisp.
Beau Bourn, a massage therapist, and Kelsi Potvin, an esthetician, are opening their spa in a small house on Highway 20 between Aero Methow Rescue Service and Yard Food.
“People keep telling us that Twisp needs this,” said Bourn. “We want our space to be a refuge from life’s busy pace. We are both mothers of young boys, and understand the need to unwind.”
Bourn was trained at the Maui School of Therapeutic Massage and has practiced locally for more than five years. She described her style as a combination of Lomi Lomi, deep tissue and relaxation.
Potvin said she left a career in human resources “to follow my passion for wellness.” She attended the European Institute of Skincare, which “emphasizes a holistic, naturopathic approach to skin health,” Potvin said. She worked in Seattle spas before moving four years ago with her family to the Methow Valley, where she hoped to realize her dream of starting her own practice.
Kyle Northcott, a massage therapist with 15 years of experience, will also provide massage with a focus on medical massage and relaxation.
TwiSpa has two treatment rooms, a full bathroom and a wood stove in the lobby. “We imagine our clients with a cup of tea, a book, and feet soaking in Epsom salts and essential oil by the fire this winter,” Bourn said. Potvin said they want to create a “tranquil refuge.”
Bourn said the spa will serve full-time and part-time residents, visiting friends and family, and travelers to the valley.
Massages will be available Monday-Saturday by appointment. Facials and other skin care treatments will be available Monday-Thursday by appointment. Potvin can be contacted at (206) 992-4182, Bourn can be contacted at (808) 280-0445, and Northcott can be contacted at 996-2027.
TwiSpa’s grand opening will be noon-3 p.m. Saturday, and feature sparkling wine, discounts on services booked, a free skin care product for people who book at the opening, drawings and goody bags.
