Danny Charles Temple, 77, went home with the angels on Sept. 6, 2018, after a long battle with an extended illness. Danny was born on Jan. 26, 1941, to Guy and Velma (Putman) Temple, in Fresno, California. He moved to Carmichael, California, at age 5, where he attended school. After leaving San Juan High School in 1958, he joined the U.S. Navy, and served his country until 1962. In 1958, he married Charlotte Lind (McKenzie). Together they had three children: Sherrie Temple (Montgomery), Pendleton, Oregon; Lori Temple (McCleery), Pendleton, Oregon; and Danny Temple Jr., Sacramento, California.
In 1973, Danny married Marlene Maughan, eventually making their home in Winthrop, and raised two more sons, Monte Temple, Marysville, Washington, and Jason Temple, Winthrop. Danny worked in vending and food service, and was a country music singer. He was happiest outdoors, and was often seen hunting for special stones. A generous and kind person, he was always willing to help anyone who reached out to him, and gave of himself in so many ways.
He is survived by his two sisters, Jackie Mardon and Judy Sheldon, both of Stockton, California; five children; two stepsons, Brandon Gingerich of Anchorage, Alaska, and Dustin Gingerich of Cashmere, Washington; his life partner and companion of 22 years, Beth Temple of Omak; numerous grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother Velma Putman Temple, father Guy Temple and brother Garland Temple. He touched many lives during his time here, and will be missed by many.
There will be a graveside memorial service on at 11 a.m. on Sunday (Sept. 16) at Sullivan Cemetery. Precht-Harrison-Nearents Chapel and the Okanogan County Crematorium in Okanogan are caring for arrangements.
