This Mazama home is one of nine stops on the Confluence Gallery’s annual Methow Valley Home Tour on Saturday.
Confluence Gallery and Art Center’s 17th annual Methow Valley Home Tour is on Saturday (Aug. 4) with the theme “Building in the Land of Sun and Snow,” featuring artisan crafted cabins to postmodern mountain retreats homes and cabins that balance practical and environmental demands with designs that mirror the unique beauty of the Methow Valley.
The tour will be from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Tickets with a tour map can be purchased at the gallery in Twisp, at the Mazama Store on Saturday from 9 a.m. – noon, online at brownpapertickets.com, or by phone at 997-2787. Tickets are $25 per person, or $20 per person in car pools of four.
“The Methow Valley is a land of weather extremes with temperatures reaching over 100 degrees in the summer and dropping well below 0 degrees in the winter,” Confluence said in a press release. “Building beautiful and functional homes in this environment is a challenge for architects, designers and builders.”
Confluence board member Loy Young said this year’s tour plays on the quintessential aspects of the valley. “Reflecting the beauty of the Methow Valley, these nine homes have a sense of place and offer a diverse selection of unique designs,” Young said.
