Daniel Don Kelley, 84, of Omak, passed away at his home May 29, 2018. He was born to Ethel and Fred Kelley in Sedro-Woolley, Washington, on Feb. 23, 1934, and attended Beaver Creek School for a short time, and then transferred to Twisp Schools where he graduated in 1953.
Dan moved to Seattle, and married Shirley Peterson and had four children, Dan Jr., Jeff, Brett and Kristina.
Dan worked for the Fuller Brush Company and Allstate Insurance Company (32 years) in which he retired.
In his retirement, he worked for Valley I-5 selling RVs for three years, and Price Motors/Sunrise Chevrolet for 17 years as a sales consultant and driver.
Dan married Janice Filer Johnson of Twisp on April 3, 1982, in Colville, Washington. They made their home in Puyallup, Washington, and Omak.
Dan and Jan enjoyed a life of travel, fishing and camping together. Their favorite was being campground hosts one summer at Big Lake, Alaska. Dan and Jan also enjoyed motorcycle riding with friends and Chapter U Riding Club and later, ATV riding with friends in the high mountains of Okanogan County,
Dan’s hobbies included: woodworking, hunting, fishing, traveling, cooking and barbecuing. He recently started making bread.
Dan is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Janice Kelley; previous wife of 13 years, Shirley Peterson Bickel; sons Daniel Kelley Jr. of Carbonado, Washington, and Brett Kelley (Celine) of Hawaii; daughter Kristina Kelley Johnson (John) of Middletown, California; stepchildren Tim Johnson of Twisp, Lori Garcia of Arizona and Jodie Montoya of New Mexico; 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Bruce, Fred and Harley; four sisters, Elenore, Mary, Margaret, and Laurie; son Jeff Kelley; grandson Shane Kelley; and great-granddaughter Iris Kelley.
