Drop Zone Cowork offers a variety of work spaces, including this cozy nook.
24-hour access, super-fast internet, conference room and more available
At-home or officeless workers in the valley now have an alternative creative space available in Winthrop.
Drop Zone Cowork, a flexible workspace that is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, recently opened in the former Pinetooth Press building at 303 Riverside Ave.
In addition to several individual work desks, Drop Zone offers a conference room with seating for six, small private rooms for phone conversations, and what’s billed as the fastest internet service in the valley: 80 mbps. There is a printer, monitor and whiteboard, and coffee and snacks are also available for purchase.
The new business is owned by Peter Polson and Shannon Huffman Polson. The concept is based on their experience in the technology work world when they lived in the Seattle area. The Polsons moved to the Methow Valley a couple of years ago. Drop Zone Cowork’s mission is “supporting creatives and professionals in the Methow Valley so they can do their best work.”
The Polsons say the space may also appeal to workers who do have home offices, but who want to occasionally be around other people in a professional setting.
Monthly membership passes are $89, which includes all-hours access by way of a coded entry pad that can be unlocked with a smart phone. Members can use the conference room for two hours a month at no additional charge. Memberships can be canceled at any time. Daily passes are available for $25 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Non-members can also book the conference room for $25 per hour.
