Senior nutrition program
The Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program is open to all low-income seniors 60 years of age and older (55 for Native Americans) who live in Okanogan, Adams, Chelan, Douglas, Grant and Lincoln, and counties. Vouchers worth $40 to be used for purchasing fresh fruit, vegetables and honey at local farmers markets will be distributed on June 8, on a first-come basis, in Twisp at the Methow Valley Senior Center from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Bring identification to prove eligibility. Summer lunch program
The Methow Valley School District’s annual free summer lunch program begins June 25 at the Twisp Town Park and continues through Aug. 17 (except on July 4). A sack lunch and milk are provided, from 11:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. For information, call 996-9205.
