1933 – 2018

May 25, 2018 by Methow Valley News

Betty Jo Barton

Betty Jo Barton, age 85, wife of Gilbert (Bud) Barton, of Twisp, passed away peacefully to the arms of Jesus on Sunday, May 6, 2018, at the Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca, South Carolina.

Mom was born on March 21, 1933, in Dustin, Oklahoma. She was currently residing with her daughter Sharon Hall in Westminster, South Carolina, at the time of her death due to Alzheimer’s.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Edna and Ruben Evans; sister Dana Sue Stewart; and brother Robert C. Evans. She is survived by her husband, Gilbert (Bud) Barton of Twisp; daughters Sharon L. Hall, Westminster, South Carolina, Terry Flannigan, Rosman, California, and Sheree L. Johnson, Seneca, South Carolina; and son William (Bill) Geyer, Belfair, Washington. In addition, she was blessed with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Mom was loved by many and she often spoke of her love for the Methow Valley and would ask to go home. This is where her heart called home. Our hearts are saddened at the loss of this beautiful life, but she will surely live in our hearts forever. She is at peace now, as we know, “she in the arms of Jesus.”

As of this date, no arrangements have been made. In the event your heart would like to do something special, donations may be made to the Cottingham Hospice Home, 390 Keowee School Road, Seneca, SC 29672.
