Senior News: May 16, 2018

May 18, 2018 by Methow Valley News

MVSeniorCenter

With the last western sidewalk sale behind us, we are now getting geared up for the big Western Sale and auction on May 26. There are so many great things filling the sale room that it’s hard to see it all, and the dining room will be filled also. So come early, have a cup of coffee and a donut, and wait for the sale to begin.

It’s nice to have some warm weather, but the high water is causing lots of problems for some. Everyone stay safe and dry.

The over-80 party is this Friday (May 18). Come in and join the “Blast from the Past” party. If you like, wear something from your era. It will be fun to see some memorabilia if you have some. Have your picture taken in the old soda fountain.

The Senior Center is located next to the Methow Valley Community Center on Highway 20 in Twisp. Lunch is served at noon by the Okanogan County Transportation and Nutrition Program on Monday, Thursday and Friday. The suggested donation for lunch is $4 for seniors over age 60; the cost is $8.50 for those under 60. Annual membership dues are $1.25.

Transportation is available locally for the senior lunch program, and for monthly trips to Omak/Okanogan the second Tuesday of the month and to Wenatchee the third Tuesday of the month. Call 1 – 800 – 635‑4391 for additional details.
