Public Hearing Notice 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the Board of Okanogan County Commissioners that a Public Hearing is set for 4:30 PM on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 to consider a supplemental appropriation within the Noxious Weed fund 103 in the amount of $183,596 from Contracted Services, DOE Lakes Grant, BLM/WSDA Grant, and from the Beginning Fund Balance. The supplemental will be used for Capital Outlay Machinery and Equipment, Professional Services, Field Staff, Rentals, Fuel, and Utilities. Vacancy Notice

Lodging Tax Advisory Committee

The Okanogan County Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC) (members determined by RCW 67.28.1817) shall advise the Board of County Commissioners on the appropriation of the annual investment of lodging tax revenues which the county receives from businesses that provide overnight transient lodging. LTAC membership is designated by commissioner resolution (125-2014) and by individual appointment letters by the Board of County Commissioners. LTAC membership include three representatives from the hotel industry (collectors), three representatives of agencies that qualify and use lodging tax (receivers), and is chaired by an elected member of the Board of County Commissioners. One collector and one receiver each serve one of the three Okanogan County Commissioner Districts. Persons who are both collectors and receivers may not serve on the LT AC. The LTAC shall meet as often as necessary, but no less than four times annually.

Currently, there are two open positions on the committee; one position representing Commissioner District #3 (Oroville Tonasket Area) and the second position from Commissioner District #1 (Omak, Coulee Dam, and Reservation Areas). Both positions must represent a business that collects the Lodging Tax Revenue, for example, representation from the hotel industry, nightly rental or RV campground business.

If you are interested in serving on the Okanogan County LTAC, a letter of interest will be needed. This letter of interest should include the following information:

Your Name, phone number, mailing and email addresses

A statement describing your qualifications and why you are interested in filling the position

A signed statement of eligibility from the entity you work for that includes the business name, in what capacity you wish to serve on the LTAC (in this case, as a Collector of the tax), and that you do represent that entity.

CALL FOR BIDS

OKANOGAN COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS WELL REPLACEMENT

Okanogan County is soliciting sealed bids from interested licensed well drillers for the construction of a groundwater well to provide water for the on-site irrigation systems on the Okanogan County Fairgrounds. The following is a project description and bid instructions.

Sealed bids will be received by the Okanogan Board of County Commissioners at 123 5th Ave. N. Suite 150, Okanogan, Washington until 1:30 P.M. on May 29, 2018. The bids received will then be opened and publicly read:

The Okanogan County Fairgrounds Well Project consists of constructing a groundwater well with an 8 inch casing and installing a 15 horsepower pump owned by the fairgrounds capable of delivering 150 GPM at 55 psi in accordance with the certificate of water right permit number G4-23526P. The project will include installation of necessary electrical systems. Electrical system will include underground installation of a two inch electrical conduit from the power source to the new well. The power source is located 15 feet from the existing well. The project will include the installation of a 4 in PVC pipe from the new well to the irrigation system control vault. The control vault is located 12 feet from the existing well. It is anticipated the new well will be located in close proximity to the existing well. Additionally, the well will need to tie into the existing irrigation line and will need to be isolated from the old domestic system.

Site map, plans, and specifications may be obtained from the office of Okanogan County Commissioners at the Virginia Grainger Building, 123 5th Ave N, Okanogan WA 98840. A bid bond in the amount of 5% of the bid shall accompany all bids. All bids shall be marked “SEALED BID FOR FAIRGROUNDS WELL PROJECT on the outside of the envelope.
