After a tough loss to league-leading Brewster, the Liberty Bell High School softball team went on a high-scoring rampage for three overwhelming wins in play last week.

On April 10, the Lady Lions hosted Brewster, and the Bears went home with a 14-1 win. Liberty Bell managed some offense, but not nearly enough against the hard-hitting visitors. Pitcher Devin Surface was 1-for-3, Nadine Treise also went 1-for-3, Emily Paul was 1-for-2 and Janie McMillan provided the only run with a homer, and added a double while going 2-for-3.

Two days later, Liberty Bell broke out the bats for a 32-0 home field romp over Bridgeport. Surface struck out 7 in pitching the win, and was 1-for-3 at the plate. KanDee Sims was 1-for-2, Treise went 2-for-6 including a double, Katie Labanauskas was 2-for-6 and Paul was 2-for-2.

On Saturday (April 14), the Lady Lions easily managed Manson with 25-0 and 23-0 wins in a doubleheader at home.

Surface fanned 12 Manson batters in pitching the first-game shutout, and scorched at the plate with a 4-for-5 day that included a double. McMillan was 3-for-4, Haily Damman went 2-for-2, Peyton Lawrence was 3-for-4, Paul was also 3-for-4 and Madison Surface was 2-for-4 as Liberty Bell put up 20 hits in a game shortened by the mercy rule.

The second game ended similarly as the Lady Lions struck early and often again. Lawrence took the mound for Liberty Bell and rung up 12 strikeouts, and was 3-for-4 at the plate. Devin Surface switched to shortstop and continued her hot hitting with a 4-for-4 performance including a double. Daryn Schrum went 3-for-4 with a triple, Madison Surface was 2-for-4, Hannah Bakke was 2-for-4, Isabella Dinsmore was also 2-for-4, Natalie Anderson went 3-for-3 McMillan batted 2-for-3. Liberty Bell registered 22 hits.

The Lady Lions added to their winning streak on Monday (April 16) with a 10-4 win in a makeup game at Pateros.

Liberty Bell was at Brewster on Tuesday (April 17). The Lady Lions will play a double-header at Waterville-Mansfield on Saturday (April 21).
