Volunteer Methow is celebrating National Volunteer Week from April 14 through April 24, which coincides with Earth Day on April 22.
National Volunteer Week is an annual celebration to promote and show appreciation for volunteerism and volunteering.
More than 20 nonprofit organizations around the valley have posted special volunteer opportunities, including road clean-up from the Winthrop Rink, being a K-9 hider for Okanogan Search and Rescue, cleaning and organizing roller skates for the Methow Valley Community Center, typing up student poetry for Methow Arts, trail resurfacing with Pearrygin Lake State Park, and helping with the Outdoors Arts and Recreation Rendezvous Festival Crafting party.
Also as part of National Volunteer Week, Volunteer Methow has launched a new team feature. Businesses, organizations, families, friends or even book clubs can sign up as a team and track their volunteer hours.
