The Liberty Bell High School softball team hasn’t had many opportunities yet this season, but the Lady Lions have made the most of them.
Liberty Bell followed a season-opening 31-0 win over Bridgeport with a 12-9 victory over Omak on March 21.
“It was a great game between two evenly matched teams,” Liberty Bell coach Lee Pilkinton said.
The coach said that senior Devin Surface “pitched a great game,” and also went 3-for-6 at the plate and scored three runs.
Peyton Lawrence was 2-for-6 and scored a run, Nadine Treise hit 3-for-4 including a triple, and Hailey Dammann went 3-for-4.
“The defense played well, giving up only two errors,” Pilkinton said.
The Lady Lions had a game postponed because of weather on Saturday (March 24). They were scheduled to play at Tonasket on Tuesday (March 27), then will host a double-header — their first home games of the year — on Saturday (March 31) against Lake Roosevelt. Games are at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
