Barnabus Cennedy Smith

Barnabus Cennedy Smith, known to all of as “Barney,” passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018, at the age of 58. He began life in Leavenworth, Washington, born to Wiley L. Smith and Audrey in 1959.

Barney was a fun-loving son, brother and father. He loved being outdoors hiking, camping and hunting. His careers also took him outdoors. His early years were spent logging then working in the family orchard. He has spent the last 20-plus years working for the Washington State Parks, mainly at Pearrygin Lake State Park in Winthrop. His last days were spent working at Sun Lake State Park near Soap Lake.

Barney is survived by his mother Audrey Hoskin; children Wiley Cennedy Smith (Bridget), Elen Cassandra Leben, Crystal Rose Smith; brother Lesley Smith; sisters Leona Langford, Janette Faussett and Eugenia Flowers (Antonio), three grandchildren, five nephews and two nieces. A celebration of life will be held at Pearrygin Lake State Park on April 28, 2018, at 1 p.m.
