Each bid shall be accompanied by cash, a certified check, cashier’s check or bid bond payable to the Okanogan County, in an amount equal to at least 5 percent of the total bid amount, as evidence of good faith and as a guarantee that, if awarded the Contract, the Bidder will execute the contract in conformity with the Contract Documents, and shall provide surety bond or bonds specified therein within ten (10) days after notification of award of contract to the bidder.
This work may generally be described as construction of a One million gallon leachate evaporation pond for the Okanogan County Central Landfill, which shall be west of the existing landfill. The work to be performed under this contract shall be the following: excavation, embankment, grading, placement of a bedding layer, installation of a geotextile cushion layer, installation of one 60-mil textured HDPE geomembrane liner, one 60-mil studded geomembrane liner, and installation of a leak detection system. Also, the work will include the installation of depth marker. See the Proposal on page LD-3 for construction period for this project.
No pre-bid meeting will be held for this project. All bidders are encouraged to visit the site.
The envelopes containing the bids must be sealed and addressed as stated above to the Office of Okanogan County Board of Commissioners and designated as “Bid for Okanogan County Central Landfill, Leachate Pond No. 3.” The name and address of the bidder shall be on the outside of the envelope.
The award of the contract shall be made to the qualified responsive bidder submitting the lowest responsible bid. Okanogan County reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive irregularities to formalities in the bid or bidding.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Okanogan County Department of Planning & Development has proposed an ordinance amending OCC 17A.270 Nightly Rentals that if adopted would eliminate the amortization period. The ordinance if adopted would eliminate the annual permit and create a new section OCC 5.06 which would require an annual business license. All nightly rentals will be required to comply with OCC 17A.270 as amended except those nightly rentals operating legally before September 6, 2005. Records indicate there are approximately 16 legal pre-exiting nightly rentals operating in the Methow Review District. The SEPA Responsible Official issued a Final Determination of Non-Significance (DNS) regarding this proposal. A public hearing has been scheduled by the Okanogan County Board of County Commissioners on March 19, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. in the Commissioners Auditorium in the Virginia Grainger Building in Okanogan, WA. Notice is hereby given that an application for a variance from the lot size requirements for the R-1 zone found in Okanogan County Code (OCC) 17A.40.050 has been submitted by Rich Burgett on behalf of Dale Roberton in accordance with OCC 17A.320 Variances. The variance, if approved, would allow the applicant to propose a division of the 3.5 acre parcel through the short plat process into a nonconforming 61acre parcel and a 2.89 acre parcel.
