Bite of the Methow fills the Winthrop Barn on March 17

February 23, 2018 by Methow Valley News

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, Methow Valley style, at the annual “Bite of the Methow” on March 17 at the Winthrop Barn.

As always, the Bite will feature a scrumptious variety of food choices prepared by local restaurants, merchants and organizations. There will be live and silent auctions, with items donated by local merchants, along with a chance to win a Holland America cruise.

The event is a major fundraising event for the Winthrop Kiwanis, which uses the proceeds to support public service projects around the valley.

Each year, Kiwanis designates a special project to support. This year, the Fund a Dream project is replacement of the scoreboard at Mountain Lion Field at Liberty Bell High School.

Last year, the Fund a Dream project was construction of an ADA-accessible ramp at the Twisp Valley Grange. In previous years, projects included purchasing roller skates for the Winthrop Rink and new wrestling mats for Liberty Bell High School.

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased from any Kiwanis member, or at the Tenderfoot in Winthrop or Windermere Real Estate in Twisp. Doors will open at 3 p.m. and the “Bite” officially gets underway at 5 p.m. Call 996-3991 for more information.
