Senior News: February 7, 2018

February 8, 2018 by Methow Valley News

MVSeniorCenter

Sounds like the groundhog saw his shadow, but then it seems like we have six more weeks of winter even if he doesn’t. Oh well, living in the Methow, we can expect anything.

Karen Dahl is the senior of the month for February.

The sale room is getting more and more full of pretty summer clothes; also an assortment of Easter things. The sale is starting March 17.

Things have been slow in the sorting room. We need donations of clean usable items. No one has started spring cleaning yet, I guess.

Hank’s Harvest Foods’ Senior Appreciation Dinner is Feb. 13. Grab your valentine and come have some food, fun and dance, starting at noon at the community center gym.

Don’t forget — we can always use paper grocery bags.

The Senior Center is located next to the Methow Valley Community Center on Highway 20 in Twisp. Lunch is served at noon by the Okanogan County Transportation and Nutrition Program on Monday, Thursday and Friday. The suggested donation for lunch is $4 for seniors over age 60; the cost is $8.50 for those under 60. Annual membership dues are $1.25.

Transportation is available locally for the senior lunch program, and for monthly trips to Omak/Okanogan the second Tuesday of the month and to Wenatchee the third Tuesday of the month. Call 1-800-635-4391 for additional details.
