The Loup Loup Ski Team launched its competitive season last weekend by participating in the Apple Cup alpine race at Mission Ridge, which drew more than 200 skiers.
“Overall, it was a very successful first race of the season,” coach Bret Alumbaugh said. “Carter Sheley finished third-fastest overall in the men’s division for the weekend.”
The skiers “battled high winds on Saturday, which reduced the Giant Slalom to a one run race,” Alumbaugh said. “On Sunday, the athletes were met with foggy skies and freezing rain, which made for a icy course.”

• U8 Boys — Lyric Ashford 5th
