James K. Hunter

James K. Hunter

James K. Hunter, Ph.D., a 1965 O’Dea High School graduate, passed away Jan. 4, 2018.

As a young man he was a standout football player in both high school and college. Jim attended the University of Puget Sound and graduated from Central Washington State College.

Jim taught in Washington, Alaska and for the Department of Defense on the Island of Crete, Greece. Jim also completed a career in the U.S. Army serving with special forces, various airborne units and Alaska scouts. Jim completed three tours as a contractor in Iraq, teaching weapons skills to the Iraqi Army.

He leaves behind his wife, Sandra Hunter; two sisters, Patricia Hunter and Kathy Hunter; and countless friends.

Jim led a satisfying life. He will be deeply missed.
