Liberty Bell High School Team 2 turned out to be No. 1 in Knowledge Bowl competition at the high school on Monday (Jan. 8)
Team 2 — captain Lazo Gitchos, Tova Portmann-Bown, Michael Mott and Wiley Seckinger — scored 50 points to best a total of 18 teams from Liberty Bell, Okanogan, Omak, Manson, Chelan and Tonasket. Okanogan Team 1 finished 2nd with 46 points.
Liberty Bell Team 1 — captain Liliana Hart-Beck, Emerson Worrell, Sam Neitlich and Nicholas Fitzmaurice — was missing Noah Batson, who was out with the flu, and finished in 4th place with 44 points. Team 3 — captain Leo Shaw, Nate Batson and Linday Worrell — finished 8th with 29 points.
The format for this week’s competition was two oral rounds followed by a written round.
In December the teams took 1st and 4th place in the first match of the season.
The next competition is on Jan. 22 at Chelan.
