PUD: Power outage begins Thursday night

September 28, 2017 by Methow Valley News

A scheduled power outage that will affect most of the Methow Valley is scheduled from 11:50 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 28) to around 6 a.m. on Friday (Sept. 29), according to the Okanogan County Public Utility District (PUD). The outage includes all customers of the Okanogan County Electric Cooperative.

The PUD will be doing maintenance and repairs to transmission equipment on the Okanogan-Twisp line and at the Twisp substation.

Affected areas include the Methow Valley from Carlton to Mazama, the Loup Loup Ski Bowl, Pleasant Valley, Malott and south of Malott to the Ophir Grade including the Chiliwist.

The PUD urges residents who use medical equipment that requires electrical power to make provisions for the six-hour outage.

For more information, call (509) 422-3310.
