A council of Okanogan County Indivisible groups has adopted the name Okanogan Action Council (OAC).
Since the 2016 national election, Indivisible-inspired groups and individuals in the county have organized a women’s march, a climate march, a town hall, weekly phone calls to Congressional representatives, letters to the editor and other activities. Indivisible is a national progressive movement with the stated goal of resisting the Trump agenda.
“Though we continue to embrace our resistance roots, we know we must do more than just resist,” said Jeanne White, a member of a Methow Valley Indivisible group. “We must listen to our friends and neighbors, educate each other on issues of importance to our community, and we must leverage our support around issues that reflect our values.”
