“Big Rock House” in Mazama, designed by Johnston Architects, will be part of Confluence Gallery’s 16th annual Methow Valley Home Tour on Aug. 5.
Confluence Gallery hosts its 16th annual Methow Valley Home Tour on Aug. 5, an exclusive opportunity to see distinct homes around the valley and learn about their design, architecture and construction.
This year’s theme is “Methow Hyyge — The Cozy Home Methow Valley Style,” focusing on upper valley homes and cabins that are warm and welcoming.
Hygge (pronounced “hoo-gah”) is a popular Danish term that describes a quality of cosiness, contentment, comfort and connection. The Methow Valley homes featured on the tour were selected to highlight relaxed and intimate atmospheres — artful and practical ways of creating a sanctuary to enhance quality of life.
The tour will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are $25 per person or $20 per person in car pools of four or more. Tickets along with a tour map go on sale at Confluence Gallery in Twisp on Aug. 1 and can be purchased until noon on the day of the event. Tickets with a tour map will be for sale at The Mazama Country Store on Aug. 5 from 9 a.m.-noon.
Advance tickets can be purchased at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/2822587.
