Carol Ann Townsend, daughter of Frank Foreman and Florence Emma (Brand) Foreman, was born in Osceola, Iowa, and passed away July 3, 2017, in her home at the age of 79. Her passing was very sudden after being diagnosed with cancer only a few weeks prior.
Carol and husband, Virg, spent time every summer from 1988–2006 (and some visits subsequently) in the Methow Valley with daughter Dee Townsend and grandchildren Natalie and Danny Rodriguez.
Carol graduated from Osceola High School in 1956. She married Virgil on May 17, 1957, in Osceola, and two children, Kevin and Dee Ann, blessed this union.
Carol lived all her life in Osceola, working for the ASCS office and Furnas-Siemens, where she retired in 2000 after being there 13 years. She and Virg also owned a vending route.
Carol loved traveling and camping with her husband. They had many happy times spent together with their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren until Virg died after 52 years of marriage. Even though she missed Virg greatly, she continued to live her life with happiness. She also enjoyed bow hunting, flower gardens and being with friends, neighbors, and family for many good times and memories.
Those relatives who preceded her in death were her parents in 1982; husband Virg in 2008; sister Louise in 1979; brothers-in-law Ernie and Boyd; sisters-in-law Betty and Leora; and nephew David.
She leaves to cherish her memory Kevin (Teri) Townsend of Osceola, Iowa; Dee Ann Townsend of Winthrop; grandchildren Jennifer (Kyle) Watson of Leon, Iowa, and Krystal Townsend of Osceola, Iowa; Natalie and Danny Rodriguez of Winthrop; five great-grandchildren, LaDainian, Kacyn, Kieryn, Keagyn and Markavion; special nieces Connie (Johnny) Mircovich of Texas and Sherry (Ron) Fitzgerald of Arizona; Sharon Smith of Des Moines, Iowa; brother-in-law Frank Townsend; and many other family members, neighbors and friends.
Memorials may be directed to the family for a dedication, to be decided at a later date (716 W. Washington, Osceola, IA 50213).
