We are starting to do a few new remodeling projects that have needed to be done for a long time. The clothing room is being painted, then next month we are getting new flooring. The old carpet has been in there since the Senior Center began over 40 years ago, and it is falling apart and is getting dangerous. We have used gallons of glue trying to hold it down so people won’t trip on it.
Then in January when things slow down, we will get the floor in the sorting room redone, and put in some new shelving for more space. We hope we won’t have too many down days, and will try to work around it the best we can.
Summer and the longest day will soon be here, and then the days will get shorter. I am sure we will be complaining that it’s too hot soon.
The Senior Center is located next to the Methow Valley Community Center on Highway 20 in Twisp. Lunch is served at noon by the Okanogan County Transportation and Nutrition Program on Monday, Thursday and Friday. The suggested donation for lunch is $3.50 for seniors over age 60; the cost is $8 for those under 60. Annual membership dues are $1.25.
Transportation is available locally for the senior lunch program, and for monthly trips to Omak/Okanogan the second Tuesday of the month and to Wenatchee the third Tuesday of the month. Call 1-800-635-4391 for additional details.
