Jesse Rasmussan’s contribution to the Elemental Sculpture exhibit is abstract and earthy.

Confluence Gallery and Art Center opens a new exhibit, “Elemental Sculpture,” on Saturday (May 27) with a reception from 4-8 p.m.

The exhibit is described as “a celebration of works in wood, metal, glass, ceramic and stone that connect artist and viewer to earth, sky, sea and wind.” The exhibit is curated by Nicole Ringgold.

Works by painter Caryl Campbell will be featured in an exhibit titled “Extinction,”  also opening May 27, in Confluence’s Community Gallery.

Campbell’s work is inspired by concern about biodiversity and loss of species due to changes in climate and habitat.

Both exhibits continue through June 24. For information call 997-2787.
