Patrick Neil Kauffman

Patrick Neil Kauffman was born on March 20, 1953. Pat passed away on April 3, 2017, from natural causes at his residence in Medford, Oregon.

Pat was born in Seattle. He attended school in Twisp, and moved to Omak for his senior year and graduation.

He loved the outdoors and spent many hours fishing, swimming and skiing.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1971 and was stationed at the Arctic Test Center in Big Delta, Alaska. He was honorably discharged from his first enlistment and within a few months reenlisted into the Army serving with the 82nd Airborne stationed at Fort Bragg, South Carolina. During his second enlistment he served as a paratrooper in the Caribbean during the Grenada conflict. Upon completing his second tour of duty for his country, Pat received another honorable discharge and returned to civilian life.

Pat is survived by his mother, Maria Mengelos Herrington, of Wenatchee; daughter Kimberly Miller, of Yakima; son Jeremy Kauffman of Yakima; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one brother, Mike Ownby (Launa) of Twisp; and one sister, Shelly Kolkey of San Diego, California.

He was preceded in death by his father David Kauffman and an infant sister.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that you send donations to The Wounded Warriors Fund or a charity of your choice.
