Newhouse to hold listening session in Brewster on Thursday (April 20)

April 17, 2017 by Methow Valley News

A listening session on Thursday (April 20) with Rep. Dan Newhouse (R-Sunnyside) will be held at Brewster High School, 6-7 p.m. Constituents who plan to attend are advised to register in advance.

Newhouse’s office announced the location Monday and provided a link on the congressman’s website for people to register for the event.

The session will be held in the high school gymnasium, and check-in will begin an hour before the event, according to a news release from Newhouse’s office.

“To facilitate the check-in process, constituents are strongly encouraged to pre-register online for the listening session,” the release stated.

Pre-registration is not required and does not guarantee admission, but is intended to speed the check-in process, according to Newhouse’s office.

Due to limited seating, people attending the session must reside in Washington’s 4th Congressional District, which Newhouse represents. Proof of current address will be required for check-in, the release stated.

Newhouse staff is also prohibiting people from bringing “items that inhibit the participation or view of fellow constituents…including, but not limited to, signs, banners, noisemakers and bullhorns.”

Constituents who attempt to bring prohibited items into the event will be asked to dispose of the item or return it to their vehicle, the release said.

Brewster High School is at 503 South 7th Street. To register for the event, visit Newhouse’s website at newhouse.house.gov.
