Twisp is seeking applicants to fill an unexpired seat on the Town Council that was previously held by Bob Lloyd, who resigned from the board in September.
There is one year left in the four-year term, which will be filled by council appointment. The appointed council member would be required to run for election to a full four-year term in November 2017, if he or she wanted to continue serving on the council.
Applicants for the council position must be residents and registered voters in Twisp. People interested in applying can either submit a letter of interest or fill out an application that is available online at www.townoftwisp.com. Applications are due to the town clerk by Dec. 12.
Twisp Clerk Jackie Moriarty said the Town Council plans to interview candidates at the council’s regular meeting on Dec. 13.
Lloyd resigned after his company, Lloyd Logging Inc., was a successful bidder for a $163,689 contract with the town, which made him ineligible under state law to continue serving on the council.
