Okanogan County has entered into a new contract with attorney Sandy Mackie for continued professional legal services for land-use matters and litigation.
The contract sets an hourly rate of $200 and reimburses fees for legal research.
Mackie has been handling land-use matters for the county since June 2013, initially through his former law firm, Perkins Coie. When he was contracted through Perkins Coie, Mackie’s hourly rate was $300 for administrative matters and $350 for litigation.
Mackie has four decades of legal experience, specializing in planning and water law in Washington. As special deputy prosecutor for the county, Mackie is handling the county’s comprehensive plan, zoning code, and all-terrain vehicle ordinances, including representing the county in litigation. He also advises the county on water and critical areas.
