Design a new logo for Winthrop Rink

The Winthrop Ice & Sports Rink is changing its name to Winthrop Rink, and is sponsoring a logo design contest to create an appropriate image for the new brand.

The winner will receive a full-year pass to use the rink. Submit ideas to: Winthrop Rink, P.O. Box 1262, Winthrop, WA 98862, or to winthropicerink@gmail.com. The submission deadline is Nov. 28. Check the website, www.winthropicerink.com, for more details.

The rink is expected to puts its new refrigeration equipment into use this year to extend the season to more than 100 days with dependable ice. Rink manager Connor Walsh said the equipment will begin making a new ice surface early next month, with skating to commence around Nov. 18.

Last season the rink was only open for about a month because of unforeseen delays in the refrigeration equipment’s installation and operation.
