Air game makes strides in football loss at Soap Lake

September 29, 2016 by Methow Valley News

By Don Nelson

Liberty Bell High School elevated its passing game with two scoring tosses last Friday in a 56-12 loss at Soap Lake.

Quarterback Tanner White hit Enrique Whites and Brady Moriarty for touchdowns as the Mountain Lions rebounded from being shut out the week before by Lake Roosevelt. Both extra point attempts were blocked.

“We had a very impressive passing game, which means our line was blocking, our receivers were running good routes and Tanner White was seeing the whole field,” coach Steve White said. “We’re looking forward to Bridgeport this week to see what the players improved on this week in practice.”

The visiting Mustangs and the Mountain Lions come into Friday’s game with identical 0-4 records. Home field advantage and passing confidence could give Liberty Bell the edge for its first victory. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.

After traveling to Tonasket on Oct. 7, the Mountain Lions host Waterville in the 2016 homecoming game on Oct. 14.
