Okanogan Bullfrogs out-swim Killer Whales in dual meet

The Methow Valley Killer Whales swim team suffered a rare defeat when it hosted the Okanogan Bullfrogs on July 19.

The Killer Whales girls’ team prevailed by 156-151, but the Methow Valley boys lost to Okanogan, 155-119. The total team scores were Okanogan 306, Methow Valley 275.

The Killer Whales took 38 first-place finishes, 27 seconds and 11 thirds in the 92-event meet.

At the Brewster Invitational on Saturday (July 23), the Killer Whales finished first 28 times, while taking 14 second-place finishes and 10 third-place finishes. Team scores were not available.

The Omak Manta Rays visited the Killer Whales for a dual meet on Tuesday (July 26) at Wagner Memorial Pool. The meet was the last tune-up before the county championships on Saturday (July 30).
