Bill Oakford, 62, born Jan. 21, 1954, passed peacefully in his sleep at his home in Twisp after a three-year battle with cancer. Bill came to the Methow Valley after retiring from the U.S. Air Force.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Evelyn; his daughters Kim and Jessica; brothers Tom, Dave and Steve; sisters Barbara and Dorothy; and grandchildren Bryan and Jasmine. He was preceded in death by his parents Patricia and Francis, brother Michael and sister Sandy.
He was employed by Sun Mountain Lodge for close to 25 years. A special thank you to everyone there for their support.
Bill was an avid bowler and movie buff.
For those that knew Bill, his wish was that no formal services be held but hope you will say goodbye to him in your own way. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in his name to: Frontier Home Health and Hospice, 800 Jasmine St., Suite 2, Omak, WA 98841. I will be forever thankful for their help, compassion and care they gave Bill in our time of need.
