1953-2016

April 8, 2016 by Methow Valley News

Colleen passed away in Everett, Washington, on March 25, 2016, of congestive heart failure. Colleen was born Aug. 24, 1953, in Seattle to Vernon and Lzady Strickland. The family moved to Twisp in 1956. Colleen attended Allen Elementary and Twisp High School, where she graduated in 1972. After graduation, Colleen went to Everett looking for work. While there, she met and married the love of her life, James Eastman. They married in December 1972. They made their home in Everett. James passed away in 2013.

Colleen loved her Harleys. She had two of them. She and James had many Harley adventures. Along with James and the Harleys, Colleen’s other love was all her many pets. She had many cats, dogs and birds; they were her kids. Colleen also belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary.

Colleen is survived by her mother Lzady Strickland of Twisp, twin brother Keith of Twisp, older sister Lzady (Dennis) Culver, niece Carrie (Devin) Burnett, and nephew Joe (Heidi) Knowles, two great-nephews, Henry and Sam, and many, many cousins.

She is preceded in death by her father Vernon Strickland and her husband, James Eastman, and many aunts and uncles.

At Colleen’s request there will be no service. She wished to be cremated and her ashes spread on her favorite knoll on the place where she was raised.

Memorials may be made to your favorite pet rescue.
