Provide feedback on lot sizes, nightly rentals, agriculture, marijuana operations and other land-use matters when the Okanogan County planning commission conducts a public hearing on proposed changes to the county’s zoning code.
The hearing is Monday (March 28) at 7 p.m. in the commissioners’ hearing room in Okanogan. People can provide up to three minutes of verbal testimony at the hearing and can submit written comments to ldavidson@co.okanogan.wa.us.
The current draft of the zoning code — the first update in 38 years — is on the Planning Department website at www.okanogancounty.org/planning under “Draft Zoning Code document 10/16/2015.” Detailed maps and the county’s review of how the zoning changes could affect the environment are also on the website.
For more information, call Planning Director Perry Huston at (509) 422-7218.
The 30-day comment period on the environmental review ends April 4.
The county commissioners are expected to review the zone code and any revisions that come out of this process in May.
