LBHS wrestlers take third place at Coyote Classic

Liberty Bell’s Ivan Johnson, in green singlet, took third place at 182 pounds.

With only four wrestlers competing, Liberty Bell High School still managed to take third place last weekend at the Coyote Classic in Kittitas.

Coach Gunnar Doggett reported that the Mountain Lions’ Meritt Fink captured first place in the 145-pound division with a victory over Reggie Jones of Colfax.

Kaleb Martin won at 152 pounds, and Jacob McMillan lost a tough finals match to take second place in the 160-pound division.

Ivan Johnson’s only loss came in the second round, and he went on to take third place at 182 pounds.

Next up for Liberty Bell is the league mixer at Oroville on Saturday (Jan. 30). On Tuesday (Feb. 2), the Mountain Lions travel to Omak for a three-way meet that includes Oroville. The district tournament is on Feb. 6 at Tonasket.
