‘Shadow and Light’ exhibit opens

Sing with Lauralee
The Methow Valley Unitarian Fellowship will offer a free opportunity for kids to learn about folk singing from one of the best — the Methow’s own Lauralee Northcott, co-founder of the nationally acclaimed Horse Crazy Cowgirl Band — on Sunday (Jan. 17) from 10 a.m. – noon at the Methow Valley Community Center in Twisp.
Movie night at Confluence
Wasteland, a documentary film highlighting the work of artist Vik Muniz with the catadores, pickers of recyclable materials at Jardim Gramacho, the world’s largest landfill on the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro, is Confluence Gallery’s movie night presentation on Tuesday (Jan. 19) beginning at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $5; wine and beer will be available for purchase. One-act plays at The Merc
The Merc Playhouse in Twisp will present a Readers’ Theater production of two one-act plays on Jan. 22 and 23: Rain, by Garry Williams, directed by Christine Kendall; and The Red Coat, by John Patrick Shanley, directed by Ki Gottberg. Cascadia concert coming up
