The Liberty Bell High School varsity boys’ basketball team was able to overcome a slow start in the opening game of the Cascade Tournament on Dec. 28 for a 45-38 win over Cascade, but fell behind Eatonville early in the championship game on Dec. 29 and lost 63-46.
Eatonville jumped to a 16-4 lead in the first quarter. Liberty Bell was more competitive over the final three quarters but could not close the gap.
The Mountain Lion’s leading scorer was Connor Cooley with 16 points, followed by Micah Klemmeck with 11.
Liberty Bell was scheduled to play at Bridgeport on Tuesday (Jan. 5). The Mountain Lions will host Okanogan on Friday (Jan. 8) at 7:30 p.m., and will be home again on Saturday (Jan. 9) against Omak, also at 7:30 p.m. On Tuesday (Jan. 12) they will travel to Manson.
