Confluence Gallery seeks applicants for 2016 fall/winter artist-in-residency program

January 7, 2016 by Methow Valley News

Confluence Gallery in Twisp is soliciting applications for its artist-in-residency program for winter and spring of 2016.

One selected artist will receive three months of studio space at Confluence from Feb.1 – April 30, and a solo exhibit in the gallery gift shop during the months of May through July.

Studio space is located on the second floor of Confluence Gallery. The studio is 230 square feet, with two divided work stations. The smaller work station is perfect for writing, reading, or computer work with a built-in desk and lots of shelving. The larger work station has two large built-in desks, one for sitting and one for standing, and some built in shelving. The studio has one window for natural light. The entire space is carpeted.

The studio space has access to a communal kitchen, an outdoor deck and two bathrooms. Artists will have 24-hour access to the studio.

Artists will provide all other materials needed to support creating a body of work for the exhibit. Materials used during residency must be conducive to a public working environment near offices and other studios. Loud tools or toxic materials are discouraged.

The works created in the residency must be completed and ready to display by May 1 for an opening reception at Confluence

Submit a resume, letter of intent and up to 10 digital images to salyna@confluencegallery.com. The entry fee is $15 and can be submitted by mail (P.O. Box 716, Twisp, WA 98856), at the gallery, or by phone (997-2787).
