Notes
Enjoying a nice lazy Sunday, watching the snowflakes fall and the birds in the feeders. It feels nice to have the Christmas Sale behind me, so I can relax. The sale was great — thanks to all who shopped with us. It is about time to give the money to the students who we pledged money to at graduation, so the proceeds from the sale will be put to good use.
The volunteers had their Christmas party last Wednesday. It was a lot of fun, with the white elephant gift exchange and the ugly sweater contest. It’s about the only time all the volunteers see each other, as everyone works different days. Of course, the food was great too — our potlucks are always the best.
Monday was our last day this week so everyone can have a vacation and enjoy the Christmas season with family and friends.
On Friday the gift basket was won by RCA, congratulations. The rolling pins that Howard Betty made and donated were won by Tootie Shaw and Dorothy Therriault.
Don’t forget the snowmobile club’s big Christmas dinner on Friday (Dec. 25). It’s always yummy and a good way to go visit friends and family and not have to cook and clean up.
Have a very merry Christmas from all of us here at the Senior Center.
The Thrift Store is open Monday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
The Senior Center is located next to the Methow Valley Community Center on Highway 20 in Twisp. Lunch is served at noon by the Okanogan County Transportation and Nutrition Program on Monday, Thursday and Friday. The suggested donation for lunch is $3.50 for seniors over age 60; the cost is $8 for those under 60. Annual membership dues are $1.25.
Transportation is available locally for the senior lunch program, and for monthly trips to Omak/Okanogan the second Tuesday of the month and to Wenatchee the third Tuesday of the month. Call the Senior Center at 997-7722 for additional details.
