Wrestlers in action

The Liberty Bell High School wrestling team was scheduled to be in action on Wednesday (Dec. 16) at the Orovile Mixer, with competition beginning at 7 p.m. Selected team members will also be at the Tri-State Tourney in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, on Friday and Saturday (Dec. 18 – 19), while other team members will be at the North Okanogan Holiday Invite in Oroville on Saturday.

Loup Loup opens its season

Loup Loup Ski Bowl opened for tubing on Saturday and Sunday (Dec. 12 – 13) and full operations will begin on Wednesday (Dec. 16), from 9 a.m. – 3:45 p.m.

The ski area will be open again on Friday (Dec. 18) through the Christmas holiday season ending Jan. 3, 2016; it will be closed Christmas Day.

The Loup’s regular operating schedule begins Jan. 6: open each Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday through the end of the season. The only exceptions are that the area will be open for the Martin Luther King Holiday, Jan. 18, 2016, and the week of Feb. 15 every day for the Presidents Day holiday week.

LBHS wins Knowledge Bowl meet

Liberty Bell High School’s No. 1 Knowledge Bowl team took first place Monday (Dec. 14) in a meet with 20 teams from seven schools, hosted by Okanogan.

Liberty Bell 1 won the competition with 96 points, while Liberty Bell 2 took fourth place with 75 points and Liberty Bell 3 took sixth place with 68 points.

Liberty Bell 1 (Rowan Post, Corey Diamond, Sebastian Hogness, Danny Rodriquez) and 3 (Colin Waichler, Cameron Quinn, Liliana Hart-Beck) won all of their matches, and Liberty Bell 2 (Claire Waichler, Corinne Dietz, Noah Bastion, Nate Hirsch) tied for first and won their other match.
