Don’t toss it — try 2Good2Toss instead

December 4, 2015 by Methow Valley News

Okanogan County is now participating in a statewide reusable materials exchange called 2Good2Toss, an online reuse and donation center for all kinds of things you no longer use and don’t know how to get rid of.

The site is accessible through Methow Recycles website, www.methowrecycles.org, or at www.2good2toss.com, which is administered by the state Department of Ecology.

The website describes the service as “Washington’s online exchange for reusable building materials and household items. The objective of the site is to facilitate the recycling and repurposing of materials and items that would otherwise be disposed at Washington state landfills and waste to energy facilities, in addition to promoting an important environmental ethic.”

Users can post listings of items and materials they wish to get rid of, or browse for those currently available in their area. Each listing contains a description of the materials along with a name and telephone number and any cost or delivery information. The actual exchange transactions are carried out directly between the interested parties.

Users can select a specific county or access statewide listings.

The Okanogan County exchange site, www.2good2toss.com/okanogan/?content=okanogan, includes an events calendar for yard sales, rummage sales and thrift store specials. Items are also organized by category.
