Get in holiday spirit at TwispWorks
TwispWorks is doing its part to help you “Gear Up for the Holidays” with a celebration on Dec. 10 from 4 – 7. The campus will be adorned with lights and holiday decorations. The working studios of TwispWorks partners and Methow Made producers will be open for shopping, and Santa will be busy in his workshop. The free event also will feature warming fires, musical performances by the Liberty Bell High School Jazz band and Youth Orchestra, caroling, plus food and beverages. Weed recertification class
The Okanogan County Noxious Weed Control Board is offering a recertification class on Dec. 3 from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at the 12 Tribes Resort Casino in Omak. Participation in the free class is limited to 100. Topics include the noxious weed invasion process, the affects of fire on noxious weeds, and weed control. For more information, call (509) 422‑7165
Pateros stages Christmas Festival
The Pateros Christmas Festival will be on Dec. 13 from 1 – 5 p.m. at Memorial Park. The free event includes a chili potluck dinner, ugly sweater contest, inner tube obstacle course, snowman building contest, ugly bathrobe snowshoe race, horse-drawn hayrides, fireworks, and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus. Christmas Bird Count is coming
The 28th annual Twisp Christmas Bird Count will take place on Dec. 20, with registration beginning at 6:30 a.m. at Cinnamon Twisp Bakery on Glover Street.
Bring binoculars, warm clothes, a lunch, and field guides. Optionally, bring snowshoes, skis, and spotting scopes.
A potluck dinner and tally of the day’s bird count will follow at Art Campbell and Michelle Dewey’s residence at 5:30 p.m. Bring a dish to share. For more information, contact Carmen Vanbianchi at (423) 202‑0829.
